Ben Chinea
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
As one of the founders of Direct Access Partners, Ben is an active Managing Member and Chief Executive Officer. In his role he is responsible for determining the firm’s strategic direction, driving the overall business affairs and involved the coordination of sales efforts. Ben is the primary administrator of all infrastructure and support groups for Direct Access Partners; analyzing, developing and implementing projects to advance business initiatives, and ensuring that the firm maintains appropriate control and governance processes. Ben started Direct Access Partners in 2002 with the mission to build an independent company that is solely focused on the needs of its clients. From 1995 until his founding of Direct Access Partners in 2002, Ben worked on the floor of the New York Stock exchange as Floor Manager for Janny Montgomery Scott (until 1999) and Brean Murray & Co. (1999 – 2002). Prior to that he spent ten years on the option exchanges where he worked for Chicago Corp., an option execution firm and Oppenheimer & Co., a convertible and arbitrage trading firm. During this volatile market time, Ben became an active options sales trader.
Ben is also the President and an active Board Member for Take Higher Ground – a non profit organization providing empowerment and leadership training for the at-risk community who has been marginalized by homelessness, incarceration or abuse.
